Fall Foliage

About

Pointillism is the Neo-Impressionist technique of painting with tiny dots of pure colors to force the eye to mix the colors to see the subject. This painting uses the same technique, yet more exaggerated with bigger dots of color. In this way a great sense of depth is achieved. The background, especially, suggests far away clusters of trees despite using the same size dot as the trees in the foreground.
